Jennifer Lopez Wears the Iconic Versace Print in a Matching Set

Publish date: 2024-07-15

Jungle prints for spring? That just may be groundbreaking.

Just ask Jennifer Lopez, who helped launch Versace's iconic jungle pattern into ubiquity after wearing it to the 2000 Grammys. Two decades after the fact, the award-winning singer/actress/designer/businesswoman has again been spotted in the motif, except this time, it's not featured on a dangerously deep V-neck evening gown.

While in Miami, she wore the seminal Versace look on a co-ord set, featuring a button-up and pants. She complemented the outfit with a white tank top, black purse, and white sneakers.

The last time J.Lo revisited her early aughts Grammys look was last fall, when she closed Versace's spring 2020 show at Milan Fashion Week by strutting down the runway in an updated version of the gown.

In a cover story with Vanity Fair, Lopez said, "The first time I wore it, I actually didn't have another dress. Usually I have choices. It was a last-minute thing that caused a sensation that was unexpected. The second time was very planned-out."

She added that the dress boosted her self-confidence (which is saying a lot when it comes from a Grammy Award–nominated multimillionaire).

"[Donatella] wound up calling and said, 'I want you to walk at the end, and I want you to come out in the dress.' 'The same dress?' 'The same dress. We'll make a new one for you,'" Lopez continued. "The second time I wore it and walked out there, it was such an empowering thing. Twenty years had gone by, and I think for women, knowing you can put on a dress 20 years later—it resonated. It was like, 'Yes, you know, life is not over at 20!'"

J. Lo took us behind the scenes of her surprising runway walk in a 15-minute video she uploaded to her YouTube channel, starting from meeting Donatella's team to heading to the Versace after party.
